    Radical Face- Ghost (2007)

Myspace | Download | Related Downloads

This project is from Ben Cooper, member of Electric President, Iron Orchestra, and Mother's Basement. In early 2008, I heard this album for the first time, honestly quite shocked he was from (most of ours) hometown, Jacksonville Florida. Songs range from simple classical influence, occasional creaking of wooden floors & wind chimes, to electronic accents. Lyrically it's immediately a Southern influence; most tracks range from upbeat to dark folk. The album concept involves leaving memories behind in homes, the title says a bit for itself. If you listen to any song first, listen to Wrapped in Piano Strings.

"It was written with the idea of houses having memories, and people leaving ghosts behind whenever they move from one place to the next. An idea that whatever we do in our homes is collected in the walls and might come out and haunt whoever moves in next. So the songs are all short stories, tied together with a theme."

Pygmy Lush - In a Hole Live (2009)

In excitement for a new Pygmy Lush album, here are 4 unreleased songs live in Richmond. For those of you who don't know, Pygmy Lush is a diverse group from Sterling, Virginia with ex members of Pg.99 and Malady. Their first full length ( previously and newly recorded tracks) Bitter River is very much a loud, noise-drone influence album. Following that Mouth Hope was released, a dark folk (mainly acoustic) album. Who knows what to expect from the new album, besides greatness.
