Girlfriends is a one man band fronted by Jerry Joiner from Pullman, WA. Nothing that I know of sounds like this, but it's a great combination. The majority of songs consist of 3 or more overlapping looped guitars, drums, and occasional synth. It's more electronic than not, but combined with elements of math rock, indie, and post hardcore, it's solid. Even in a few songs (The Apocalypse Made Me Brave) you can pick up some 90s emo. It would be great if you donated some cash when you download!

A few videos can be found on youtube of live performances, but watching some select people in the audience was irritating. Here's something of less quality but it still gives you the idea of how he tracks each song. I normally have a strong distaste for "dance bands", I didn't even know Algernon Cadwallader was one until I saw them in October, but I would have no problem getting down to this.
